Here's a Ford UK ad for the SportKa.

Ford is taking a lot of heat for this. And rightfully so. I understand it's meant to be humorous and usually I can appreciate "off-center" humor but this one goes too far.

It's definitely better than the "...and I love you too!" Ford commercials!

(where is the homosexual smilie when I need it?)

yeah, they've gotten lots of heat due to that ad.

I like cats (plan on getting one soon), but it's all in good (or bad) humor. Humor is humor. People need to stop taking what they see on tv so seriously. Having said that, wtf was Fod of Europe thinking? Lol. Ford of N.A wouldn't dare pull off a stunt like that here in the states.

That's a mighty powerful sunroof! Wish they'd have sold that motor to GM for the F-body windows!

I've spent a decent amount of time in the UK.

You have to understand the Ka market to fully understand that commercial. Kas are two sizes down from a Focus (Focus, Fiesta, Ka). They're very cheap, slow, and have more women owners than men. People know this.

So if you're bringing out a sporty version of this, how do you slice through the stereotypes? How do you get people's attention and change perception?

It's a brilliant commercial.

So Ford is taking heat for it. There are now millions of people who won't look at a Ka the same way ever again. Mission accomplished!

Its my understanding that this commercial, along with the bird one, were both put together by an ad agency for internet advertising. Ford rejected the cat one and never gave approval for it to be ditributed. The bird one, however, was approved and came out last year. Now the cat one has been leeked and Ford's catching a lot of crap for it.

Granted I'm not the target market, but that's just sick.
