If you like the Ford GT................
Here is a first hand account from someone who has actually driven a production car, and driven it hard. He isn't a magazine guy, or some television journalist........... he is a real person with a passion for performance cars. Note all of the great pics.
He is also a Z06 owner.
All I can say is............... that lucky BASTARD !!!!!

Re: If you like the Ford GT................
lucky bastard...i need to disown my parents and join his family...i wouldn't mind having a dad who was some big detroit wheel who can have the people from dearborn just 'drop off' a gt-40 for the day with no strings...this is what i get for being born under a bad sign
Re: If you like the Ford GT................
I'd believe it. Everything I've heard and read about the GT just seems to run parallel with his enthusiasm. It's a killer car - and I cant wait to see what happens when some demented speed-crazed guy buys one and then MODS it! It's an amazing car that was built top to bottom with the formula already nearly perfect. Think of how amazing the original GT40 was over 30 years ago. Given the same concepts, the same styling, there was a lot there that they didnt have to start from scratch. They took a car that was already incredible and simply updated it- and I dont doubt it's the final say in ford supercars. I mean... if you really are a car enthusiast, how can you not atleast say it kicks ***?
Jeremy Clarkson said something to the effect of "you can do it for love... but nothing's better then doing something out of spite". Ford tried to buy Ferrari. And when the deal was nixxed right before the papers were signed, Mr Ford told his engineers to build something to blow ferrari away - and they did.
And I hate to say it, but from the pictures I've seen - it looks amazing, espicially the interior. Now if GM puts a 427 into the C6... then we'll have some slight competition- but the Mid Engine GT just is miles ahead for grip...
Good job Ford. Perhaps this'll make up for the sad excuse for the next generation mustang
