I doubt they would give the Astra to Saturn again, will this go to Buick or Pontiac? Chevy doesn't need it (Cruze, Aveo, Spark, HHR). I could see this replacing the G5 and maybe the Vibe too. I don't think Buick is ready for a car that small.

Very close to what the Vibe already fills, and since it's a shared platform with Toyota I don't know why they would leave that. It can't be horribly expensive to slap a Pontiac logo here and there on the Matrix and sell it.

But then again, I couldn't see that car in what is the current or even future image of Buick. It looks like a better fit for the Pontiac line with the exception of what I mentioned above.

Of the ones listed above I would guess Buick only because Pontiac has the vibe and Chevy has the Aveo5 and the HHR.

I would bet it just won't come over here.

Buick would get a rebadged Astra. Pontiac will probably end up with only a single performance sport sedan (rebadged Holden) sold at Buick-GMC dealerships.

What platform is the Astra on? Is it the same platform as the Aveo?

Current one is on Delta (Cobalt/HHR), I think the next one is on Delta II (Cruze)

To add to this the current Aveo is on an older Daewoo chassis but the next Aveo (or its replacement) will ride of the GME developed Gamma chassis.

The Opel Corsa and I think a European MPV but I don't recall very well. I just picked up that from thegriffon over on C&G. I don't go there much anymore, it has gone downhill recently.

I doubt this would go to Pontiac which is also on the chopping block. It would make an interesting Buick, I am not sure they could make it a Chevy.

That's the problem with GM atm... nobody can figure out where the car is a "best fit". It's times like these I wish GM consisted of just Chevrolet and Cadillac.

This should be a straight-forward decision. It should not be debated. Gone are the days when Chev stood for 'value'... Chevrolet sell some expensive cars today, so that argument goes out the window.

The 'best' brand should sell the best cars. And I'm still disappointed the G8 didn't start out as a Chev!

Pontiac is Not on the chopping block.

I can see the Astra as a Pontiac since it would replace the G5 quite well.

The Vibe is in a different classification IMO.

I'm sorry, but if this car was "too expensive" for Saturn, it is "way way too expensive" for Pontiac.

My guess is that nobody gets it here, unless they decided to build it in North America.
