If its all true...

If all the rumors are true, that GM is harboring its new 2+2 coupe till the last second, and they're doing it to get around the fact that Ste. Therese is kaputt, and all that...

Wouldnt that be pretty much one of the most successful instances of a major auto manufacturer keeping things secret in recent memory?

It seems every new car gets scooped by someone. But so far, not this new coupe. Thoughts?

How much of a secret can it actually be if we've been talking about it on the web for at least the past year?

Talking about it with absolutely no proof. Not a single GM image or official mention. Not a single shot of a car in camo. Nothing. It just seems odd.

good point. This is probably the tightest design this side of the Corvette. But chances are that the chassis and powertrain have already been tuned or is being tuned under something else. The Opel insignia uses the same Zeta chassis, and there could be one with a big 6.0 LS2 with a 6spd manual running around Europe, and we wouldnt know anything about it.
They could take 4th gen body pannels and hang them on a Zeta chassis with an LS2 and 6spd and no one would be the wiser. People in the Detroit area might have already seen the car in some form or another and not even know it. You could pop the hood on said Zeta 4th gen and from the looks of it you wouldnt know that this was an LS2 as it looks so close to the LS1.
There are reports of Monaro's running around with 6.0 Gen IV motors. Could there be a Zeta chassis under that sheet metal? Im sure as time draws closer that pictures of drawings or designs might pop up. Look how the Cobalt was discoverd. They were in the background shot of GM's design studio from a Make a Wish day.Someone noticed that a large 2dr coupe that looked nothing like Chevy was making. But with the release date around 06 to 08, we are far off from seeing any acutal spy shots of the Camaro or whatever 2dr 2+2 coupe Chevy has going.
Look at the Buick Velite. Untill about a month ago, there was NO news about one. Now its going to show up at NYIAS.

Holden do that all the time...they run a new chassis with the old sheetmetal in testing. I'd say driving round Melbourne you may find some intresting clues to the zeta camaro coupe
