Maybe THIS has something to do with Guys Newsflash post?!

I don't know how I'd feel about it being a Camaro...but I sure am drooling over this thing I wonder if those ttop looking moon roofs are a hint at anything?

“It’s a first step towards monitoring public reaction to a type of rear-wheel drive vehicle that doesn’t exist in today’s General Motors portfolio. It could be designed and produced off a number of GM platforms, taking advantage of the virtual maths-based processes and component sharing which enabled us to build this working concept in a very short space of time.“
I thought someone said that they based this concept off the Solstice??

Thumbs up Re: I watched the unveiling of the Torana...live

I see ZERO Camaro in this car.

BUT I do see a LOT of Chevelle in it! I also see a LOT of the Hot Wheels "Overbored 454" from 2001. (in blue or orange Offer it in 2 and 4 door models as an entry level RWD sedan for Chevy.

I like it!

Don't take things so literal, guys. Seems whenever anything comes out, the herd runs to a "it doesn't look anything like a Camaro" cliff.

Guess what? Not everything that comes out of a design studio with RWD from GM has anything to do with Camaro. There are different market segments ya know?

That said, we should be looking at the chassis and proportions when we are thinking about Camaro potential, NOT design.

That's what annoys the living daylights out of me about photoshoppers. Something comes out whose design has as much to do with a Camaro as the bathroom urinal, and without fail, someone morphs it into a 2 door with a Chevy badge and/or bar, and proclaims it a Camaro concept, and a bunch of people line up and give critiques. GEEEEEEZ!

If anything, Torana's styling will be a basis for a Pontiac, Buick, or Chevy midsize sedan.

It's a HOLDEN TORANA, not a Camaro! I'm begining to think if some of you guys lived in the 70s, you'd look at a Nova and critque how much Camaro is in it's design.

Ya'll are killing me!

Seriously, I'm pleased to see the positive comments on the vehicle, itself.

No...it is not a Camaro!

(Camaro with 4-doors? I'd do more than smash my head into the monitor!)

I think probably more annoying is having to line up and give a critique of a photochopped a car (that is about as related as a urinal) into a Camaro because GM continues to leave it's fans out in the cold without public statements or visible commitment to the future of this marque.

Here's what I see.

182.7 " overall length
112" wheelbase
A rigid modern chassis.
A world class suspension.
A big interior with a small exterior.
A platform that can take lots of power.
An engine bay that looks like it fits a V8.

I like that better than a large sedan architecture for my car.........you know what I mean?

Please...I'm beggin' you.....promise to read my book in a few years. There ARE reasons why we're not talking...trust me. It does not escape us that we've upset a lot of enthusiasts. (remember, there are very few more rabid about Camaros and Firebirds than I am....)
That's why I continue to say (for the 1,835,643rd time) ...

(all together now!)

.....Have faith!
