I wake up every day knowing that I am spotting Ford 150,000 to 200,000 units a year.

Yup. This one would.

I would too.

The Mustang is feeding off its "the only game in town" situation.
I find myself falling victim to it as well. Driving by the Ford dealership and seeing a very cool looking Mustang sitting on the showroom floor really wants to make me go in.

By the way, am I the only one seeing history repeating itself with this Mustang Camaro thing?

I thought so (and this isn't a slam) as I think there are more than a few people who just aren't partial to anything except it just needs to be darn fast, stops on a dime with a quarter for change and goes around corners before you think about it.

Let me broaden my question then, if the market had three cars; A. Mustang (mid priced, lowest performer) B. Camaro (most expenisve, mid performer) C. Challenger (least expensive, best performance)

Would any F-body guys dump the Camaro and head for DCX?

What makes you think that Camaro will be both most expensive and a mid pack performer?

Through June, Chevrolet division has taken over the sales lead from Ford division. Should make for a really good race to the end of the year.

not saying that it would be. I'm more interested in seeing who would say screw that, I'll take the dodge cause its what I'm looking for, a solid performance value.

By my way of thinking. F-bod guys are like mustang guys. They are interested in a camaro with a few going for whatever they think offers the best dollar to performance ratio and even fewer settling for whatever is out there.

Hence my argument, that Ford didn't steal the market. Those are mustang guys buying mustangs. Not camaro/firebird guys pumping up the mustang sales because there isn't currently nothing else to choose from.

I'll go out on a limb and say most f-body guys would rather push a chevy than drive a ford, and thats because what the brand represents and in the eyes of an f-body guy, no mustang no matter what it is will never ever be as good as a camaro any day, at any time, at any point in history.

2006 Corvette Z06 = 65k = 505hp = Curb weight of 3130 pounds
2006 Viper SRT10 = 86k = 500 hp = Curb weight of 3380 pounds

Well going by the current standard I think GM can pull off a better bang for buck with Camaro compared to Challenger.

I don't think it matters how much ammo you have, since you don't seem to have a gun.

And this mustang person initially wanted an LT-1 f-bod, couldn't find a 6spd version, settled for a 5spd 5.0 Sn95, and loved it. Years later, i found a clean Ls1 z28 and traded in the mustang.

I don't fall into the "mustang-only" or "camaro-only" group, and would gladly own either or both.

Heck, i'm not even an import guy and am a v8-guy, but i plan on buying an Rx7 TT FD in the coming year.

It's really hard classifying people into groups. Truth is, most people go from model to model. Alot are also first time buyers and newbs.

Metaphorically speaking anyone on the internet has a "gun." Better known as a keyboard.

But I'd like to hear what a fanboy, such as yourself would think, when this fall announcement doesn't mention a Camaro and there's no prototype at the '06 NAIAS. Still gonna "keep the faith?"

Theoritically, I would probably buy a Challenger, because most likely that will perform better than Ford's style over substance Mustang. Also, apparently you are just too unintelligent to comprehend from my last response to you in a thread way back, that I am not a fanboy by any means. I would say, however, that you are one of the biggest Ford fanboys on this site.

If there is a concept at NAIAS (which it definetly sounds like there will be), I will be the first one to laugh at you. If there is not, oh well, I would just end up buying something different in a few years. There is a big market out there, and it isn't just Chevy (or in your case Ford.)
