I think that GM emblem has to go....

I've seen afew cars with the new GM emblem and I wish they would just drop that whole thing.
It looks like a little carbuncle on all the cars I've seen it on. A Cobalt SS I saw today, had "SS" and under that "Supercharged" and under that "GM". I felt like I was reading the credits at a movie.

I agree. It just adds unnecessary clutter and provides no real value. If people don't know their car is made by GM, this badge isn't going to increase their automotive knowledge by any appreciable degree. I wouldn't be surprised to see it gone in a year or two.

It'll be gone soon I'm sure. They just need to put the logo on the floormats and be done with it.

Are they indented into the panels or just simply glued on? If so just take a heat gun to it like said before, no problem.

That's how they used to do it.

I know, which is why I think they need to go back to it.

Dumb.

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I wonder what high-powered executive brainiac decided this was a good idea?

I thought GM was trying to further distance and individually distinguish their nameplates. The GM emblem isn't helping matters.

Re: I think that GM emblem has to go....

I've taken an informal poll of customers I've had since my 2006s started trickling in. Even if they weren't interested in an '06 G6 or GP (my only '06s so far), during a walk of the lot I've asked what their opinion is of the GM badges. Honestly, its roughly a 50/50 approve/disapprove rating. Those that approve couldn't care less about it, it seems. Of those that disapprove, about half of those would remove them if purchasing a car.

Therefore, it appears that in my highly un-scientific poll, about 25% of new GM buyers will remove them. Personally, file me under the "I couldn't care less" category.

Id be in the group. It wouldnt change my mind abotu things. I think they could have thought it out first instead of smacking a small 3mm badge on it, but it doesnt bother me, and if it does...heat gun and its gone.
