Basically it is a unit that creates H2 and O2 from the electrolysis of distilled water. The unit is a little larger than a DVD player and the cost of the largest for commercial use (buses, semis) should be $7500. Claimed increase in fuel economy by 10-40% and up to 100% reduction in emissions.

Doesn't it require a lot of energy to break water into H and O? If it really is this simple why, why didn't anybody do this before?
If it really is as revolutionary as they say, and delivers the quoted results, this guy will be very rich. Even a small investment in that company now would be worth a fortune down the line. If their results were accurate, the EPA might make this a mandatory emmisions device on cars. It would make a cheaper car for the consumer at no govt cost. I rally hope this isn't BS...

Ok so this unit seems like the ultimate Catalytic converter but it works before the fuel is ignited. It cleans up the ratio of molecules so the burn is cleaner and more efficient. It is not a true fuel cell vehicle. It is like an addative used to get cleaner emissions. Could be GREAT for Diesel.
But what I am wondering and I ams sure others are too: Is this efficient on a large scale. Would this work on a larger scale for volume efficient production of hydrogen that could be stored and then used later? Then used with solid storage, GM has been working on this for years on the Skateboard fuel cell, to make a practical fuel cell vehicle.

well, i didn't bother reading the article, but hydrogen generators have been around a long time.
8 years ago, in college, I was a tech and fixed hydrogen generators for Packard Instrument Company (Now Perkin Elmer). We used to see units come in that were probably 10 or 15 years old.
Oh, and we just plugged them into regular 120v sockets. . . didn't take a ton of energy.

Oh, you know... just your average SBC with hydrogen injection supported by a turbo charger. I'm probly looking at 800 or so hp in mild tune...

I'm still not sure about the physics. I thought it takes the same energy to split water into hydrogen and oxygen as that released when the two are combined in combustion. Since no process is 100% efficient, it takes more energy to make hydrogen than it would to combust it.
Given that, how could this box increase the gas mileage???
