How would our friends from Oz feel about the Monaro replacement.....

...being the Camaro.

Essentially a right hand drive Camaro called Camaro. Or would it need to be called something else. Monaro? Torana?

That would be very, very interesting to see....

I honestly do not think it will be called Camaro....More than likely Monaro or Torana, I just cant see a "Holden Camaro"

I wonder how this one will play out..

I honestly wouldn't care. To me, Holden is essentially an offshore division of GM and most buyers realize that. Why do I buy Holden? Basically for the GM powertrains and RWD drivetrains and the value factor. If GM are able to offer me the same in a similarly desirable and affordable package, then I'm in.

Camaro will be quite a car if it's built true to it's concept. If it sells for a bargain price, I don't think you'd have too many complaints from people down here.

Btw, Camaro must wear the Chev badge!

My 2c.

Monaro....Camaro...

Camaro...Monaro...

It's all just badge engineering isn't it?

I don't care if its called Camaro I do care if it doesnt have the lion badge. I don't see the point of bringing a Chevy badge out to Australia.

especially for just one car. It would have to be a Holden Camaro to make any business sense.

I'm not headstrong about it but one could also argue why have Camaro when the Holden badge quite clearly suits Monaro better? Camaro is definitely about Chevy in much the same way as Corvette. The other alternative is to wait for (Pontiac) GTO and give it a Holden badge.

Sibling rivalry at its best!

You know...

....if GM sent the Camaro to Australia for additional design work, in theory Holden could modify things that would incorperate elements of their coupe design...

....why else would Holden be involved in Camaro design work?....

......this is only a theory.

There's no such thing as a "Holden Camaro". Hell, you wouldn't export the Corvette and call it "Holden Corvette", would you?

There is a Holden GTO (HSV GTO), Honden Caprice, Holden Captiva (Chevy Captiva sold in Europe). I'm ok with a Holden Camaro. It isn't like people in the states will ever see it. Other than the grill (which could easly end up with SS or Z28 badge) the Camaro doesn't really have many Chevy badges on it.
