Just making the point that Mustang and Camaro are so completely interelated, that you can't write a story about a Boss Mustang without mentioning Z/28 Camaro in every paragraph.

The feud carried over to the racetrack. The Mustang won the SCCA Trans-Am Sedan Championship in '66 and '67, but the awesome 302-cid V8-powered Z/28 Camaro snatched the glory in 1968.
...............Why didnt the writer credit camaro for 69 championship.12 races camaro won 8 and mustang won 4.Points at the end of the year camaro113,mustang 74.I guess cuz it was a story for a 68 stang it wouldnt help out to say camaro ruled 69 race year.Sorry i just felt camaro should have been given its do for that year.

The story was about a BOSS 302 Mustang, which was made in '69 and '70 only - not a '68 model.

And honestly, the article was about Mustangs, not Camaros. I think it's awesome that the writer gave Camaro the props it got (and deserves IMO).

Please look at the title of the article again...
If we want to turn it into a "who-won-what-year-by-how-much" story, we need a new title and text, wouldn't you agree?

Nice find Charlie - Thanks for posting.
Wouldn't it be awesome to see these kinds of articles written in late 2007 covering the 2007 SCCA Championship battle between the 2007 Mustang GT350 and the 2007 Camaro Z/28?!?!

Thanks Greer, wasn't hard to find....Autoweek has been headlining Mustang stories all week!

One thing though...

If an SCCA road race series for stock based cars (like Trans Am used to be), had the profile that Trans Am had in the '60's/early '70's....and either Ford or Chevy decided to participate.....it wouldn't take long for the other to join in.
