You can get lift and duration changes in real time by a solenoid operated pivot othe rocker arms. Move to a shaft mounted rocker arm and then you can control all the rockers on one shaft with one solenoid. You can also have a "dual cam profile" by a pin in the lifer that retracts at a certain rpm alowwing the lifter to sit on a different lobe profile. Add to this a larger bore block/ better flowing head, Veriable runner length, factory "rev kit" for higher RPM use, direct chamber fuel injection.. ect... I dont see why a 6.0 to 6.6L Pushrod motor couldnt make 500hp with ease. A 2 valve heart shape comb. chamber is better for fuel economy than a pentroof chamber so emissions wont be a problem.

Yes a solinoid (sp?) for each valve just like in F1.No cam at all.
Are you saying F1 cars have no cams? I don't think that's the case. There's rumours of one of the cars running electromagenetic solenoids, but it's not likely due to the weight, complexity, power consumption, and inaccuracy.

Think Mercedez.....They dont have camshafts. They use electromagenetic solenoids. That is one i know for sure,As for everyone else Im not 100% certain on.

Doesn't BMW Williams have pneumatic (sp) valves for its F1 cars??

'Pneumatic' refers to the springs. All the F1 cars use them because normal springs can't take the stress. The valves are still opened by camshafts.

I've know a guy w a 475 HP N/A SS--just intake, exhaust, heads, cam and computer.

You can also do VVT on an OHV engine by putting 2 cams w multiple lobes and followers in the "V".
