I think they're neat, too. Small, good use of room on the inside, sporty, cool "personality", appear to be well-built (despite a few launch issues), and they're not terribly expensive. If I wanted a small commuter car, I'd certainly be looking at one of these.

Did anyone catch the part about the Cooper Challenge. I think that'll be a neat series.

If GM is so committed to Saturn.....why don't they do an Ion Redline Challenge.

The fastest BMW Mini Cooper ever was photographed recently at Germany's Nurburgring race track. It is a lowered, lightened version of the 200-hp Cooper S Works with upgraded suspension and was built to compete in the Nurburgring 24-hour endurance race.

Wow.. All that work and dedication for a Mini Cooper?

Yea, if the domestic sports compacts want more gleem on their names, they should fund something similar too..

I love the new Mini. Unless GM delivers on the ~$20k Solstice, I'm heading to a Mini dealership when I get out of college.

I think that movie sold more Coopers than anything BMW has or will do.

Minis rule. These things are going to make awsome beaters in about 5 years.

I was thinking the same thing. New Minis are cool....$5,000 used Minis will be irresistable.

I will admit the Mini's are pretty cool looking. Anytime I get into something that small I feel like I'm a dead man, I could not own something that small. I work with a guy who just bought one, so I got to see one up close and man it is extremely bare inside. I also work with a girl who just bought a new Vibe and just looking inside it seems to me she got way more of a car for about the same money. I might ad that they are both very happy with their new cars so far. Oh except the guy with the Mini lives in a bad area and someone smashed in his front fender and headlight in the middle of the night. Other than that he loves it. If I was in the market for a puny lil' car I'd go with the Vibe, but thats just me.

A poll taken in London rated the mini second to the McLaren F1 as the funnest car to drive before you die!! Now keep in mind this was just a "fun to drive" poll. Pretty impressive, quick and nimble. Cool ride
