Re: Hot Hyundai hatch. No kidding!

With a sub-civic price that lil thing could sell real good just by the look, size, and stance.

Looks pretty good, the hyundia badge looks very out of place. Looks more like a euro Focus.

Oh I agree, it's definitely Focus-like...in fact the more I look at it, very much so...but that doesn't mean A) It doesn't look hot to the kiddies and B) it has no chance of selling. The only saving grace the Big 3 have anymore is their timeless American designs like the new Mustang (could you see Hyundai copying that? ) or hopefully the next Camaro.

well, we'll see if they release it looking exactly like that..

or if it gets toned down with the fenders, and wheels, and stance..

Re: Hot Hyundai hatch. No kidding!

None of this matters. All of the wishful thinking in the world won't change the facts. If Hyundai puts this car out and has a 200HP model available, it will sell.

1. It's going to be cheaper than anything in it's segment.
2. It'll have Hyundai's 10yr warranty

The 10-year warranty alone is enough to max out most people's "perceived quality" meter.

Surprising that a FWD econ-box gets no love from a Camaro site...

I don't really like it myself, but I can see that it will sell. Too many people here have their RWD-V8 goggles on to know a popular car when they see it.

Thumbs up Re: Hot Hyundai hatch. No kidding!

I think that car looks great, but is that the only pic available of it? I'd like to see the interior.

I think that it looks like a combination of Ford Focus hatch with a Scion tC front end, albeit much cooler looking headlights (they remind me somewhat of the headlights on the new M35/M45 from Infiniti).

Hyundai has really been working hard on their initial quality, though I think their resale value still sucks and their long-term dependability of their newer stuff is unproven, as their older stuff wasn't so great long-term.

If they're making a lil pocket hot hatch thats styled like that (and lets say they stick their 4g63 knockoff and/or AWD) or give it near 200hp in some form and even FWD, yes it will sell.

But... if they're gonna pull this on the Accent - what about the next generation Tiburon?

The next generation tiburon is going rwd with v6 / v8 isn't it? We had a thread about that not too long ago.

Re: Hot Hyundai hatch. No kidding!

I dont find the car to be anything spectacular, it just seems a little to similar to the Focus and the Matrix, but it will definitely be a hit with the younger crowd as well as being a popular tuner car.

It's not amazing, but I like it. Hyundai has been impressing me lately. (I like the looks of the new Sonata quite a bit)

i really can't say anything bad about it. for the market it will be for, it's a cool little car. i mean, even the Tiburon isn't bad looking to me, just not my thing.

Re: Hot Hyundai hatch. No kidding!

I like it alot. Hyundai has been very impressive lately.

I'd buy that little hatch as long as it had a decent (180+hp) auto model available. The thing that kills me about all the new neat little imports is that they make no auto performance models. I guess I'm just too lazy...

Re: Hot Hyundai hatch. No kidding!

It looks really good. Hyundai is really stepping up lately, realizing at least a sporty look goes a long way, especially in the youth market.
