Holiday Safety from Fbodfather aka Redplanet

Good evening Friends and Camaro Comrades -

This week, most of us will be gathering with friends and family to give Thanks for all we enjoy in this life. The Thanksgiving Holiday is the heaviest travelled time of the year in terms of motor vehicle traffic.

Many have heard my plea before, but I believe it bears repeating:

On behalf of all of all the men and women at General
Motors......please......I beg you:

>Buckle up when you get in your cars and trucks......and that goes for
EVERY passenger as well. We put seatbelts in all of our vehicles for a
good reason -- they can save your life and those who are riding with you.
>Don't drink and drive.....if you're going to be drinking, then please
designate a driver before you leave for the party. If you'll be by
yourself, please call a cab.
>If you're going to be driving any distance, please stop every once in a
while to stretch and refresh yourself. Get a cup of coffee or a
soda............The latest studies show that most accidents occur because
the driver is fatigued and/or sleep deprived.
>Cell phones are great.....but pull off the road into a parking lot if you
need to make a call. (I love those bumper stickers that say 'Hang up and
Drive!')

While it may seem trite, I'm sincere when I say: ' we want you around for
many more years..............'

Please enjoy your holiday!

Scott

Great advice , RP! I hope everyone listens to it (no only this week, but always!)

My biggest pet peeve is the cell phone thing! Drives me NUTS watching some joker drive on the phone, weaving all over, or going 15 mph under the limit, or a ton of other stuff.

I saw some guy driving to mork this morning doing a crossword puzzle while driving... ARGH!

Ditto here. I frequently drive up to LA & San Fran, and there hasn't been a trip yet where I didn't have to look aot for some goofball on a cell phone at least once on the freeway.

Thank you Scott!

Very good advice. There will be alot of cars on the road this weekend with many of those being out-of-towners that may be lost, so be patient with them.

Scott, I hope you have a good, relaxing weekend with time to spend with your family and friends. Just be sure to get back to work on Monday so you can get our new Camaro ready!

Everyone have a safe Holiday Weekend!

Since some major snow hit us in northern Indiana a few days ago and I saw more than a few F-bods sitting in ditches and other roadside paths I felt the need to bring this thread back to the top. Stay safe guys, please
