Holden Colorado Showcar
Has anyone seen this?

I could see this truck making production with little changes (probably mostly wheels and details in the headlights/taillights) and then slapping a Chevy Bowtie and you got your Chevy Colorado...
not a bad looking truck.

Re: Holden Colorado Showcar
Its like that grill is destined for a bowtie.

We'll probably see them here in about 2 years.

Re: Holden Colorado Showcar
As I said in the other thread...
I will be in the market for a new daily driver in the next 2-3 years, possibly less.
I need something with:
Room for passengers
AWD/4WD
Reasonable gas mileage
Moderate towing ability
Ample gear storage options
Good for urban use as well as non-urban use
Adequate for travel during the impending zombie apocalypse
As it stands right now, Chevrolet needs to build something like this, or I will have to buy Jeep. I don't want to...but I need what I need.

Re: Holden Colorado Showcar
I was in the exact same boat as you. Looked at Colorado's, including the V8, and even an H3. At the end of the day I drove home in a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4-door with a soft top. It is my first Jeep and my only regret so far is not buying one sooner! The only problem with Jeeps is they make any accessory you can think of and it is so hard to resist. Two weeks of ownership and I just dropped over $500 on toys for the Jeep!
Re: Holden Colorado Showcar
I'm liking what I see so far of the new Colly.
I would seriously consider replacing mine with a new one if the following criteria are met:
- regular cab
- short bed
- 2wd (RWD)
- 3.6 L V-6
- 6-spd manual trans
- limited slip or locking rear end
- sport suspension package
- top notch interior with best materials available
- all the gadgets (like the Sync system, keyless entry, remote start, pushbutton ignition, etc.)
And the most important part:
- has to be built in the U.S. with a majority of U.S. sourced parts
If they can give me that, then the new Colorado could very well be my next DD.

Re: Holden Colorado Showcar
If this thing is not a complete ****box like the current Colorado, and it is priced right, this should sell well. A V8 Colorado sounds interesting untill you realize it costs as much as a V8 Silverado.
Re: Holden Colorado Showcar
If it is okay to go by Chevrolet's recent progress with Cruse, Malibu, etc., I think that this has a chance to be significant, and recapture the small-truck segment while simultaneously reviving it.
I think if it does, it will be a severe mistake not to bring it stateside.
