Here's a pic of Chevy's proto 05 sub-$25,000 performance car!
If that is the direction the next Cav-Replacement goes, I think it is a good move.
I think it is pretty good looking for a small, sportish car. I can also see a pared down version of that car as a base model to sell to thr masses.

I don't think it's all that bad. Definitely Focus/Vibe-ish. It's about what I expected, I think GM realizes to better compete in the entry level market the styling needs to be a bit gimmicky to lure in the younger folk.
The thing I've noticed more than anything in this forum is that if it doesn't look like an existing F-bod, then people say it's ugly.
This only goes for a small amount of people, and it's the same ones on every single thread.
Personally, I think it's a good step for it.

Here are some good large pics of the Opel that might strongly hint to the next Calvalier replacement:

Any on of us who want to buy a GM performance coupe and/or hatchback for under $25,000 will have no choice other than FWD (AWD?) 4-banging Delta-platform cars from Chevy, Pontiac, and Saturn. The performance versions will be supercharged and should have a good HP-to-weight-ratio and some might even have an AWD option. Regardless how much hype gets generated over these cars over the next couple of years its going to be very hard for many here who are V8 RWD guys to accept these new-breed FWD cars.
Unfortunately when the all-new GM V8 RWD cars (not trucks) start appearing in 2006 MY they will most likely cost near or over $30,000 for a base models and loaded verson will most likely be closer to $35,000.
Many of us here who can only afford $25,000 (in 2005 dollars) or less on a NEW GM performance car should consider some sort of brainwashing techniques to convince ourselves that FWD is actually better then RWD
The 1st step in this brainwashing technique is to cancel all subscriptions to your current car magazines and start subscribing to Import Tuner, Turbo mag,and Hotrod Honda
