Here are the sales figures and production data from '64-'03 for Mustang & Camaro
There isn't a better forum on this message board to post this sort of thing so here it is -- this is Camaro related, so I'm not going to put it in the F-body lounge since it is mostly non-car related stuff. I got most of the information from a representative of Ford, but filled in what I could regarding the Camaro production numbers.

Hope you enjoy it, even Camarosource.ca doesn't have the sales data available.

The Ford guy didn't have the Firebird sales data and I don't have the production data either. If some Firebird enthusiast wants to fill it in, I don't mind.
Re: Here are the sales figures and production data from '64-'03 for Mustang & Camaro
I have this for the Third Gen years. The Camaro numbers are Chevrolet (CWB) and the M*stang numbers are from some site specific to those years of M*stang, but it was a long time ago and I don't recall the site. The Firebird numbers are PHS. They should all be accurate, especially the Camaro and Firebird figures. As a Gen, Thirds (mainly the Camaro) did the best against it's competitor.

Re: Here are the sales figures and production data from '64-'03 for Mustang & Camaro
All of my webpages go into that category because when I was making my first webpage, I put it in that category because I only make a crappy one so I would get 18 additional MB of ftp space from AOL. Hard and long to explain if you don't have AOL. Anyway, all my stuff ends up in that category now.

It's sad to see GM losing sales over YEARS, yet after cutting the F-body, STILL no replacement in the works
Whatever.
Whatever.
Re: Here are the sales figures and production data from '64-'03 for Mustang & Camaro
I think if they made fewer of them (more closely to what they were selling) and offered more colors like yellow, orange, bright blue, bright teal, and etc. they could have made it into a sort of Lotus Elise type car. And by that I mean, an exciting race car for the street that comes in racy colors. Just needed some cooler paint colors.

so the fbody only outsold the mustang in 8 model years?
from 96 up camaro sales really sucked compared to previous.

Actually, Camaro outsold Mustang only 7 years, but you've got the right drift. ('71, '77, '78, '82, '83, '84, & '85)
According to the "AOL" sales chart, Camaro's sales have been generally underwhelming since 1988, with the exception of the sales spike of '94 & '95
Re: Here are the sales figures and production data from '64-'03 for Mustang & Camaro
You're right, it was 7 years, but you said 71 instead on 91.
As we all know, sales lessen over time when you run generally the same car for 10 years, but I really attribute the 88-92 reduction to there being no more affordable base Z28, the slight IROC-Z restyle, no more IROC-Z after MY90, and the over-the-top at the time 91-92 Z28's. I also don't think the 90 interior restyle with all yellow font and emblems helped, along with other little things. Same for the new AB steering wheel and flat rims. They did keep the cars fresh in the Third Gen, but prices were pretty high and were already a decent amount more than the competition. I also don't consider 100,000 unimpressive, that's still good even it it was lower than before. We can only hope to get a 5th Gen that high.
