The heartbeat of America: Chevrolet

I do agree that "We'll Be There" needs to go. It does nothing at all for me.
Heartbeat of America
We'll Be There-Mike
I think Like a rock is great for trucks, works perfectly makes you think of something strong and hard to break. But i always incorporated The Heartbeat with muscle cars. My friends dad has a heartbeat license plate cover on his chevelle so i guess thats where that came from. Im only 17, so i dont really remember much of the 80s.
Maybe Chevy needs a new ad agency.
The last Chevy car commercial that I even found the least bit interesting...was almost 10 years ago. The one with the two little kids...and the "two hundred and seventy five horsepower, six speed Zee Twenty Eight".
I can't remember the last Chevy ad or tagline that made me want to take a second look at a Chevy car.
If they can't come up with anything good.....they ought to try and copy someone...there are lots of good ones out there.

I do like the new "always drive a Chevy" commercials. They're nothing earth-shattering, and probably wouldn't work as the basis of an entire marketing strategy, but they always make me watch the entire commercial.
GM made an incredible video set to the tune of Boys of Summer that showed how they were once on top, then lost their way, and now they're working their way back up again. In a way, it's the predecessor of their new "repentent" ads we're seeing now, but this video was for internal use only and doesn't focus nearly as much on their failures. I think it was also the inspiration for some of the Cadillac ads that showed their historical vehicles. I keep a copy of the video on both my laptop and palm pilot and probably watch it once a week when I need a pick-me-up

That one last year with the rent-a-cops in the Impala chasing the "bad guys" in the Alfa Romeo 164....had an effect on me....it made me more interested in Alfa Romeos.
I betcha that Alfa 164 had a 5 speed manual too.......
