Lightbulb GTO Styling - From a Aus Perspective

I feel the new bumper Pontiac have put on the Monaro takes away some of the clean styling it has. Monaro's are far more impressive looking in the Metal then a picture.

Couple of intresting links

VY series Commodore... Styling Queues on how the new
Monaro/GTO may look?

http://www.holden.com.au

Also the HSV arm of Holden (My fav cars ) have done there restyling of the VY car in the HSV image.

Talking

How's this grab ya: The exchange rate is right now 53 cents to the US dollar. That means the CV6 is roughly $24,000, and the Corvette powered CV8 isonly $28,000 now!

If this keeps up, maybe we will get out GTO for under 30 grand!

Oh, by the way, that LS1 powered Commodore SV8 is less than $22,000!

It's really going to be interesting to guage opinions on the car once we have more to go on than a low-res sketch.

My repost...seems to fit every GTO post.

WTF!! the GTO is not supposed to be a pony car!!!!! It is supposed to be a mid sized family sedan with alot of power. The GTO was a freakin Lemans, not a firebird. Its supposed to look like an impy or grand prix, but have *****. The Grand National was a damn regal. I think getting this kind of handeling, the beautiful interior, and an LS1 rear wheel drive is more than anyone can ask. If you don't like the styling, thats a personal decision.

If this were 63 and the situations were the same, everyone woulda said the GTO was ugly because it looked like a lemans, but because it was the first muscle car, no one complained

SV8 is just a base model with a LS1 and a rear spoiler.

You'd have to spend some money to get it up to the SS standard.

Anthony, let me put the price of your SV8 in perspective for you.

Your Corvette powered 306hp (235kw)Holden Commodore SV8 is base priced under $22,000 US.
Our own base model 180hp (134kw) 3.4 liter V6 Chevrolet Impala starts at $21,000 US!!!

Hope that helps you to understand why I'm in vapor lock over the SV8's price.

Yeah I see your point, I just prefer the SS.

Then again I prefer any HSV over the SS
