GTO Convertible?

I know the chances of this is virtually none with the current model, but what do you think the chances are that the next generation GTO will have a convertible option?

And I noticed that there are ZERO Holden convertibles. Why is that?

The sun is very hot in australia, and in my part of australia if you spend just 30min in the sun in summer you will get sun burn. Therefore sun(moon whatever) roof is good, but complete exposure to the sun via convertable = ouch!

I'd say alot of things will be different and more options will open up when the car gets built here around 06.

Well, with Solstice roadster and G6 convertible hardtop, you'd think that would be a lot of convertibles in a Pontiac showroom...

But... you never know...

Sydney & Melborne areas aren't that bad, and that's probally a good chunk of the country and most of the sales I'd think.

The V-car wasn't made to be a convertible, it was engineered as a sedan only both in Germany and in Australia (Australia's V chassis is wider & more rugged than Germany's). Monaro/GTO is a V sedan with a few altered pieces.

The "Sigma volume" chassis is intended to be the basis for a wide range of GM cars in the world, so I'm guessing since it will include a specifically engineered coupe, it should include a convertible as well.

But way down south were the ozone layer barely exists above us we get crispy real quick ;P I hardly see any convertibles around here. It tends to be to cold in winter or sunburn time in summer. Other parts of australia it is better tho.

BTW, Holden have one convertable, the Opel.....er ........ Holden Astra convertable Seen a few of them locally, but never with the top down :P
