GoAuto article re: GM's RWD program.

Most of my GM info comes through the back door at Holden. Unless GM-NA separates itself from Holden's plans (as when they cancelled Zeta), I can usually get a pretty direct picture as to what's going on, filled in by certain people here and behind the scenes.

This is an article from GoAuto. It in general pretty much hints at everything I've been told from my "ways & means" of info gathering regarding Zeta, waiting for the dust to clear, etc...

It's far more accurate and detailed (kinda) than anything I've read in the press so far.

Just to add to all of this, I think the reaction of the press, the public, and GM's own stockholders has made them rethink and actually pick up the pace of trying to get some of these RWD cars to market.

Absolutely. And even if it had nothing to do with it, it was nice to blow off some steam.
I especially wonder if some of the more colorful comments on the Lutz blog have had any affect on these plans.
Of course there is the possibilty that GM has been planning internally the entire time.

Sounds like Zeta hadn't gotten to the 'designing for US' phase. Now the question is how much engineering info did GM US have and what did they apply that to before the connection was severed?
