$5500 in rebates on Saab 9-2X
Yes, I'm aware it is a rebadged Subaru WRX wagon. It is also now cheaper than said car once the rebate is applied. With the current incentives on these babies I now know what my next car will be. Right now you get $4500 rebate + $1000 GM Hot Button rebate = $5500 Total Rebates!!! That's regardless of whether or not you get the Aero (turbo) or Linear (NA). I'm not sure if it's regional or nationwide, though. Example:
Base 9-2X Aero = $27,645
Dealer Discount = ($1000)
Total Rebates = ($5500)
Purchase Price = $21,145 ==> Cheaper than comparable WRX!!!
The Linear is an even better deal if someone just wanted a nice little runaround car and wasn't worried about performance.
Base 9-2X Linear = $23,685
Dealer Discount = ($800)
Total Rebates = ($5500)
Purchase Price = $17,385
Plus you get a 4 yr 50K mile bumper to bumper warranty + free scheduled maintenance for 2 yrs or 24K miles!
Now all I have to do is decide what color to get. I'm thinking Red but maybe I'll get the dark blue or desert sand (pewter).

Not when the Saab is cheaper! Don't forget, I get GMS on the Saab. I also get an extra $500 off for Saab Lease Loyalty. GMS + $6000 in rebates = one hell of a deal. I'll be picking mine up by April 30.

WOW.
I have never seen such blatant badge engineering in all my life. I thought the Saab got a whole entire different interior than what the Suburu got.
Still, that is an amazing deal you are getting. Honestly there is no reason why anybody should buy a WRX wagon. No incentives on the WRX, and the Saab has a longer warranty with 2 years of free maitence.

- Saab has 3 interior color choices vs. 1
- Saab has optional power sunroof
- Saab has optional heated driver and passenger seats
- Saab has optional heated mirrors
- Saab has a "Multi-function remote", whatever that is
- Saab has an external temp gauge
- Saab has optional Xenon headlights
- Saab comes with the alarm standard
- Saab has a rolling code remote, whatever that means
- Saab has a longer warranty
Basically, all that stuff are the advantages of the Saab over the WRX Sport Wagon. Of course we are talking a $2500 MSRP over the WRX too, but w/ these discounts, that eats right through that advantage. Though the rear and side styling is similar, the front of the Saab is FAR better looking in comparison w/ the WRX.

The other advantages of the Saab over the Subie not mentioned above are additional sound deadening material for a quieter ride (some may see this as a disadvantage since it adds weight and therefore reduces performance) and a different suspension setup. The Saab's suspension is more compliant while still performing nearly as well (some say better) than the Subaru's.
