Or maybe Motor Trend is just wrong with their info. Wouldn't be the first time, and certainly won't be the last time.

I hope the info is just wrong. Because that would really be dissapointing. My vote is for motor trend being wrong/dumbasses...

the '07 "classics" have been out for months...... I had a hard time deciding if I should buy my '06 but looks like it might be a while before you can get a rcsb with the A6 and 6.2L

I like the GMC truck a lot It looks mean.

I like the Silverado better too now that I see it from different angles. The Ext Cab looks much better than the Crew Cab.

It will have the TrailBlazer 4.2L ~290HP engine as a base motor. the 4.3L V6 is dead.

The other engines they quoted are for the last generation of Silverado, 5.3L H.O. and LQ9. The new 5.3L is 320HP and 340tq while the new 6.0L should be 355HP

Better truck? Probably.

Sad that the badge engineering will probably never go away even though you keep hearing that it will.
Headlights look a little different, but i is very hard to tell since there is only one GMC pic. Other than doors, the GMC is different sheet metal. It is the least badge engineered GMC full size truck ever. I'd say its the same level of Badge Engineering as the 900 yukon. I wonder if the GMC dash will be different?

Plus GMC gets the 6.2L/6-speed combo, Chevy doesn't.

Ya, I did notic the different looking body panels after looking at it again earlier this morning.

Even if the headlamps are different (they could be, but they look very similar) it looks like the fit in the same opening shape, and the grill and lower grille are all the same openings/shapes, etc.

Hopefully they'll look more different when more pictures become available.

Doesn't Denali = SS?

I would expect the SS Silverado to get the same powertrain, though hopefully it will be available on the regular cab, and the 6 speed could be a stick.

Of course if the SS gets the SC 6.2 then there may be no need for the 6.2 NA.

I hope there is a body color front grill option on the Chevy, 'cause all that chrome is hideous.

It has in the past, but who knows about how they will do it in the future. That S/C V8 better have DoD/AFM if it wants to survive in a $3+ gallon world. Any chance the truck supercharged V8 will be a 6.0L instead of a 6.2L? GM was testing S/C 6.0L's a while back.

Something interesting to note:

TrailBlazer SS AWD = 14/17mpg
Cadillac Esclade AWD = 13/19mpg (and that is without AFM/DoD)

L92 > LS2?

Give the TBSS the same transmission as the Escalade and then see how those numbers stack up.

I've heard nothing of the 4.3 being replaced by the 4.2L at this point, I'm afraid to say...

I really don't care, since the 4.8L small block is a small upcharge away. Might as well be the base engine, as far as I'm concerned, but the V6 gets them a few extra CAFE points...I think the V6 is pretty much only bought in "WT" (work truck) level models. So if I look at it that way, the 4.8L outguns anyone's base V6, with probably very similar fuel economy.

All reports up until this MotorTrend Article say the Silverado was getting the 4.2L. MT is the only one that says 4.3L v6. Remember the I5 / Silverado rumors too.
