We sold Kohler faucets... probably the best you can by... they only had a one year warranty at the time. It was hard to sell someone a $250 faucet with a 1-year warranty, over a $50 faucet with a lifetime warranty....
Peopel would say "Why buy the expensive one? If it breaks I am screwed... the cheaper one much be better becuase it has a lifetime warranty.
I asked the Kohler rep about this, and he said their market research stated that when someone buys something with a long warranty, they view it as cheap and expect to have to fix it often...
If I am correct, Kohler now offers a lifetime warranty. That was like 7-8 years ago when I worked there...
Just a different view on long warranties, I guess...
