GM: Saturn Penske deal dead.
Sorry to see Saturn go, was kinda redundant, but now the "new" BUICK has some more breathing room...and these are first Buicks in years that everyone are talking about..
The new Lacrosse kicks @$$...

You are wrong - they all signed "wind down" agreements with "Old GM" when GM was in bankruptcy. The contracts stated they would CLOSE if a new buyer of SATURN was not found.
Well guess what - no buyer is there, they all must close. Sure, they can reopen the very next day they close, if they can afford to maintain the bills during these dismal sales months, not very likely.
Furthermore, they're not going to be able to secure backing for their floor plans. The deal also takes every Saturn dealership "idea" and hands it over to General Motors....unless they can find a buyer of the entire distribution channel.
One final note, they can't break their agreements and "quit" Old GM at anytime. The only way the're going to stay open is if some new buyer comes in and makes an offer to GM for their franchise agreements.
What's so hard to understand? They fall under the control of "Old GM."

But at the same time the dealership itself won't close because GM (either one) doesn't own it and never did.
My wife likes "smaller" vehicles. The equinox is "noticably larger" than a Vue. The Vue is borderline as big as she wants to go. She says she'll test drive it, but I have a feeling it will be a "no go" based on size.
You and I may only see a slightly larger vehicle, but she sees a huge vehicle when we looked at the new 'nox.

Have you seen a Vue and Equinox side-by-side? I would have guessed they were the same size. If the Equinox is still too big, you could always hold out for Orlando.
They're not.
When compared to the Vue the Equinox is:
8 inches longer, has a 6 inch longer wheelbase, width and height are pretty much the same. The way the body is shaped, it "looks" much larger as well. I did a lot of research on the small SUV grouping and I think that pretty much makes it the "longest in it's class." Which is probably why they can say it has the largest backseat room.
We're not buying anything until next year. We may buy a used Vue. We can already pick up an 08 for 16-17K, and that's before Saturn's doors close. We may be able to pick one up for 12-14K next year
We could pay cash for that
