I don't believe any new car requires full insurance coverage, unless maybe your bank requires you to have insurance to have a loan.

Yup, it is the lean holder that requires full coverage. Age or cost of vehicle has nothing to do with it as long as you own the car out right.

Is this even a sale?

If you go to Pontiac's web site.. http://www.pontiac.com/current-offer...T_0for72_HP_MH

They are offering $6500 cash back on the purchase of a new car.

With this new plan they give the dealer seven grand to take title of the car and sell it as used. No GM cash back to the buyer.

This looks more like a plan to move cars from row A to row B on the spreadsheet.

When I checked the dealers Tuesday they had only a few vehicles left. Saturn dealer had an Aura and a Sky. Both are gone today. But the sky is not a redline, and they wanted $23k (after taking $7k off the "$30k MSRP").

Didn't seem like a good deal at all, but i guess someone else thought it was.

Went shopping I checked this late at night of it, local saturn had 5-6 vues, we went yesterday and they only had 2 hybrids, and one sold as we were looking at it. Daytona one I believe only had 3 new Saturns left, I believe they had like 8 Auras but they all sold.

Father in law has offered to possible help us until I get out of school and get working again.

Kind of looked online, no Vues in Tampa, Orlando, 2 left in melbourne 1 left in Daytona, and like 4 left in Tavares (small town between Gainesville/Orlando not on any major higheways)

Looked at some used ones, not sure if they are good deals, Dealer says he is trying to move inventory, has a couple look like lease returns, 08s, all with ~27k. XRs, chrome doorhandles, painted bumpers, 3.6 w/ 6speed. In the $17k range, without any haggling. Might be able to get a better deal but still a nice deal. They are pretty nice in person, just like the Equinox imo...

The dealership was crowded and I saw at least 4 sales withing 1 hour. Had a huge, quick I must buy before someone else gets it vibe, like you see in stores. Which I am sure dealers love.

If the dealerships in your area are like the 1's in mine then the G8 GT's & GXP's are long gone & only the V-6 base model's are left.

And you'd be exactly right.

Pearson in Sunnyvale has a GXP, but they want ~$45K for it....
They're in no hurry to sell.

I did an inventory search for GTs, there were 5 in the local (I think within 25 miles of my zip) and when I did a GXP search there was 1, in Rochester, NY. (I'm in SE MI). Too bad, I would have loved to get a GT level Hp car with a stick. The GXP was a lot of fun on the test drive, but I just couldn't afford it. Might not really be able to afford the GT, but with that extra $6500 off that sure helps.
