They focused away from what the market wanted. I would so have bought a Z24 Cavalier if they didn't fall apart so fast.

they advertise catering to what is trendy at this moment: fuel economy

look how many people are lining up to pay over sticker for a hybrid boring-mobile prius --- more people care about fuel economy than an exciting car.

too bad GM can't figure this out.

Maybe if they file for bankruptcy, they can fire some worthless workers and shift some plants to more mechanized, modern plants. There is a reason imports are made here in the good ol' USA, and it's not unions. my 5c worth...

Gm is throwing tons of $ at hydrogen power. Gm has also tried alot of unique things in the past, not that any of them have done well!
-The motors that shut down cylinders on the highway (didnt cadillac do this years ago?)
-the envoy xuv roof
-camping out of an aztec
-the avalanches dual abililties

Re: GM looking at hard times

GM is has come along way......down hill...thier products are boreing and "yesterday"....GM's advertising is terrible.....my dad used to be a die hard GM fan and he just bought a new Honda Accord...why? GM makes nothing that grabs a person and say....I'd like to have a car like that....granted the Accord is not the most exciting vehicle but dad being old wanted sporty, quality, and fuel economy and he liked the way the Honda drove....GM..namely Chevy...makes great rental cars...thats it.
Most people can't afford a truck/suv gas tab, and thats the foundation of ford and gms sales. Their cars are trash, i would never consider them.

the first thing i think of when someone wants an affordable economical car is a toyota/honda/lexus/acura.

hell, even if i was thinking of a pickup truck, i would prolly get a tundra/tacoma/titan

Gads... Why did I even bother reading this h8r's thread. Folks if you are so disappointed with GM vehicles... you know where the door is. Go have a blast in your "sporty" Honda Accord ( ). Just get out of my way when I rocket past in my Goat

...And good luck, finding a vehicle as distinctive and offroad-capable as the Hummer H2/H3's...

...Good luck finding anything at the same price, that can hang with the C6 Z06

...Have fun finding something as cool and quick as the CTS-V, the LS2-inspired GTO, the Cobalt SS, the Trailblazer SS, or the Grand Prix GXP

Run along now, ye of little torque

Did you do your "happy happy dance of joy" when Nissan went under and got bought out by Renault? Nissan was garbage around the time they were going bunkrupt. Even more garbage than you say GM is now. Every single one of their products was at least 7 years stale if not more. No wonder they were in such a **** hole financially!

You don't see the irony in wanting GM to go under when you're still rooting for Nissan which was in similar trouble with their lineup?

Tell you what, why don't you go and replace those syncros on your 350Z. It must be as common as doing an oil change for you now.

Re: GM looking at hard times

Don't know why any of us are wasting our time replying to this thread but it amazes me that some people want GM, one of the largest American corporations, to go under without thinking what that would do to the economy.

Cheer for GM going under and you're basically cheering for a huge smackdown on the U.S. business world and not to mention the amount of jobs lost.

Amazing there's so many haters on a Chevy enthusiast website. Oh but I forgot, just like the media has shown, "it's fun to bash domestics."

Re: GM looking at hard times

I am no big fan of the new GM, I have an open mind to cars that I didn't used to have. (Every car I had ever owned for the first 7 years of my life was a V8 powered Chevrolet). Now I can appreciate the good things about Toyotas, Nissans, ect and many people here hate me for it. But I still and always will be a fan of GM performance. Nothing finer.

I only know what I hear in quick blurbs in the business section of the newspaper or on TV, but... With the troubles GM is in, I'm pretty disgusted with the UAW and their unwillingness to go easy on them. I'm a union supporter, but for the love of God... If you kill the company, what the hell good is your union going to be when you're out of a job? Can't get blood out of a turnip.
