GM employee pricing to all...

on 90% of Chevys to start Wed. August 20 thru Tue. September 2 2008. If you plan on buying a new Chevy tomorrow, don't. Wait until Wednesday. This is a natiowide sale.

Interesting though if they're like last time, I doubt these employee prices are going to be all that great compared to the effectual price of 0% for 72 months. Granted they'll be better for a cash buyer but I'm talking about for the people that would make payments and/or the people who could pay cash but will go for whatever leaves them with the most money left in their pockets when it's all said and paid for.

Then again if they pair employee pricing WITH finance offers and/or rebates then that could be good. Don't employees get to still use applicable rebates and finance offers when doing their employee pricing?

They might have it in Canada. We often have similar incentives. Currently, the promotion is still on for 0% for 72 months.

Can this be used with some of the financing deals?

Employee pricing is below dealer invoice and current incentives can be included to further reduce sales price. GMS plus rebate, but then you dont get the financing deal. It is available on cars out of stock for 91% of current inventory. Some models are not included. Sometimes the 0% can save you more than discounts. You have to figure out how long you are going to keep the vehicle to decide which incentive is best.
GM card money is NOT available with GMS discount.

I remember last time they did this, the resulting 'hangover' was pretty severe for the next few months and they kind of admitted it was a mistake. So I'm a little surprised they're doing it again. Desperate times, perhaps ...

Bah, it shouldn't be surprising at all. Everytime GM slips closer to its natural end state (figure, oh, 15% market share in a 14M unit/year market), we see this sort of spastic behavior. Sure enough, we'll probably see a short-term boost in sales, the stock price might inch up a few bucks, maybe we'll even see a quarter where the losses aren't quite so bad, and everyone will proclaim Wagoner to be a greatest auto exec ever. And then a few months later, we'll be left broken-hearted yet again when the showroom traffic once again grinds to a halt, and GM makes empty promises about weening itself from incentives.

Might as well go resurrect a buncha threads from 2005 - it'll save us a lot of time.

08... heard on the radio that it was on all "Chevy, Buick, Pontiac, GMC" and they didn't say "SS excluded," but I still don't see any official announcement on the Chevy site.
