GM does a great job advertising their CHEAP cars!

Why do they do that but not the actual pricey ones?

I recall a commercial with the Pontiac Persuit or whatever where this guy is ripping it, banging through the 5-speed watching the revs climb on the tach. Even as a Sunfire-like car it looked like it was a fun little thing to drive.
Then there was the Pontiac wave I think? Where there's a siren in the background and it shows this little car back into a small space so the cops can't find it. And the announcer says something like The new Pontiac Wave; it doesn't break the law, it just gets out of the way better

and one of my favorites, all the cheap GM cars playing soccer, hitting the ball off their hoods, till one breaks a window then they all hide.

That's some GOOD advertising, why can't they do that on a car worth more than 11 thou?

I thought the V-series ads were good.

That was a Cobalt commercial. Cobalt's start at $14k. 14>11.

While not really flashy, I like how they state that Chevy is the #1 selling passenger car brand in America, and also have the longest lasting most dependable trucks on the road.

Other than some crappy G6 ads, I never seen any Pontiac ads. They've way over-advertised the LaCrosse meanwhile. And what's really cool is that Pontiac needs to advertise the Grand Prix as much, if not more so than the G6...its sales are hurting, and with the Charger coming its gonna get worse. What's really cool is that probably no one will know about the GXP having a V8 unless they stumble onto a Pontiac lot. Seeing as how advertising helps that, one can see the Catch 22 involved there

Just checked out the GM web site. Cobalts start at $12,400 with the current discounts.

We have a GXP ad running over here, but they tie it in with the discount plans. Nothing overly special. If there's a model worth boasting about right now, it's the GXP. You know Jase, awesome machine for sure!

Yeah Lew, don't remind me Our sport red one is still in the showroom...the one that was supposed to be mine!!!!!!!! Although, I have to admit...after seeing the G6 coupe in person and driving the GT version, I can't wait to drive a GTP. The GXP looks mean, but it doesn't look RIGHT to me. The G6 coupe just has that look to it...I can't stop looking at it when I'm on the lot!!! Despite the fact I typically gravitate towards larger cars, in this case G6 GTP > GP GXP, despite the raw #s the GXP can put up. I love them both for entirely different reasons. The GXP is the one I want to drive, the one I want to put the hammer down on, the one I want to listen to. The GTP G6 coupe is the car I want to be seen in, the car I want to sit in, and the car I can row through the gears in. Both great for different reasons.

Interestingly, I was arguing with my dad when he came down to look at the G6 coupe. I told him I was thinking about one, and he said "its too damn small for you...you didn't like your Grand Am because of the size." But when I look at it, the G6 is indeed 9" shorter (198 vs 189"), but the wheelbase is 2" longer (112" vs 110") so the ride will be big-car smooth, and here's the kicker...the G6 is only .8" narrower!! 69.8" vs. 70.6." If I needed a car today, without question I'd order myself a G6 GTP coupe 6 speed. Too bad I really don't need a car right now, nor can I really afford one

Jason, sometimes I wonder how you work in a dealership. It must kill you looking at all these new cars that come in.

By the way, my sister finally bought a GA (about time, I was getting tired of test drives.) 2001 black GT, all options except leather, for blue book (10,2- 10,5 or something like that) in pretty good condition. Now it's my turn to clean it up again and wax it properly. :blah:
