GM Buying Out An Additional 24,000 UAW Workers
In addition to the 30,000 UAW workers of 2005, GM is going to buy out an additional 24,000 UAW workers.
What I'm being told is that the workers being bought out are workers at plants that will no longer be open past 2010 or are of high seniority. The reason is to make room for more two-tier wage workers of younger age.
Again, a win, win for everybody involved.
