Worth noting:

Those 20" wheels, slotted brakes, and lowered suspension height are all available from HSV, which also functions as a tuner shop (like Saleen here in the US) in that they sell parts they offer in packages.

If HSV installs lowered springs on a Commodore & sells it through dealers, I don't suspect it will be too hard getting lowered springs installed and shipped here.

Too bad there's no pricing announced.

Although it's a pretty safe bet you won't be able to get a V8 delivered for less than $40k

I don't think that's a safe bet at all, not in a world where you can get a 340 hp Charger for $30k. I bet G8 pricing will be similar to Charger's, maybe even a bit below at first. Dealer markups, of course, are another story...

I am happy to hear about the 50/50 weight distribution. Finally, a worthy competitor to BMW, or at least a start.

Hopefully G8 steering is just as responsive and provides good feedback to the driver.

It also says "true dual exhaust" - is that just for the V8 model, or V6 as well?

Why is GM Canada giving out production specs for a car built in Australia?

No kidding. What I dont understand is why more people don't just go across the border and buy from the states.

Does it void the warranty or something?

Two comments and a question -

1) - red lenses won't have to be ordered from Australia, you can likely get the dealer to swap them off a V6 car for the "I do not drive an Altezza and my lamps are not clear" look Now if we can just get rid of those hoodscoops....

2) Hopefully the "color display" part of the radio will also lead to the Sat Nav option being added to the car by the time it gets here

3) what happened to the G8 production interior pic attachment?

Dealers are not really allowed to sell new cars to foreigners. Some automakers get pretty sticky about honouring warranties in such cases.

But for cars 6 months or older, it's fair game. You just have to run the gauntlet of certifying the car to Canadian regulations, which for most models isn't that difficult once you do your research. However some models, like the C6, require significant modifications to pass, and others, like the GTO will never be allowed in Canada short of doing your own crash tests.

What I don't understand is that it shows leather interior in the interior listing...will it be standard like in the GTOs? If so, that sucks if you don't like leather...and jacks the price up more...

What is interesting is if this is true, a leather interior is standard but a leather steering wheel isn't...go figure...

I think one of the releases I read said that cloth seats were standard.
