heck I was thinking what about keeping the regular open grill hood and putting the Pontiac Cheif's head in the grill???

that would look cool..if not bad ***..kinda like the Marauder

 

What would be neat would be a front end like the old Grand Am GT with the ram air in the grilles.

Fo some reason they want to put that solstice face on everything, and it just does not work. I also think this car is to edgy to have a the rounded front of the Solstice

 

I'm not that fond of the MT version--it comes off dated-looking already. That said, I don't care for the buck-tooth Grand Prix look either.

I think they realize the problems with the GTO frontclip and don't want it to blend in that much with recent Pontiacs. I like the Holden version, but giving the Pontiac G8 more thought A-pillar-forward sounds like good news to me.

 

After seeing, and literally being in the Commadore SS....GM can't screw this car up.

Don't worry...it will look fine, and even blow some away.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if someone saw a twin kidney grill and called it "all new, just like the Solstice". Also, the original AN story says that the G8 will be slightly longer than the current Grand Prix. That would mean the G8 would be a re-grilled Statesman rather than Commodore. Doubt it.

We'll see next month, but I'd take this report with a grain of salt.

 

Can't wait to see it. I might actually be able to get my gf to buy one of these as she loves everything about the Goat, except the number of doors.

beautiful! I sincerely hope GM impresses me with a really good looking front clip, but this is perfect already! Why not let it be the stopgap Pontiac that doesn't look like any Pontiac before it [well not in the grille area at least], meanwhile an all new lineup is developed with a remake of some classic, better-looking than current twin kidney setup Pontiacs. I am so sick of the twin kidney look! It associates with all the worst Pontiacs, and honestly some of the worst cars GM has let languish, around.

 

Think it sucks, personally.

I know the car is to get a Pontiac styled grille, but i doubt it's going to be a "bottom-breather" like Solstice is, and I also doubt it will have a rounded nose piece on that angular body. The design would be a disaster, and I know Holden wouldn't design haphazardly like that.
