and for the record I think the LS3 versions should be called GTO and the others G8 coupe. That is pretty much how things were in the old days.
I'm thinking that GM are getting the 'Holdens' at cost price. Perhaps the engines are shipped to Holden free of charge although I'm only speculating? Says he knowing nothing in life is 'free'.

I remember hearing luts of muttering at the economic situation in the US (and the falling dollar) meant that the prices for imported holden vehicles would get spiked - and scaring off consumers.

Supposedly the G8 was exempt from this issue because money was already taken care of- but between that and the CAFE over-reaction, the "G8 variants" got axed. We got the Ute back, and now the ball may be rolling on the Coupe, so hopefully the Sportwagon will get confirmed next . GXP Sportwagon

Knowing the G8 coupe and Camaro share a lot of development, I'd like to see them benchtested against each other.

This would be a GREAT addition to the G8 sedan and ute!
I think it looked like this GTO concept if that counts? I kinda wished production looked more like the concept at the time. Also I dont think naming the Monaro counterpart GTO hurt sales. This looks like a natural GTO update to me...
