G.M. and Chrysler to Merge?
Merger Talks with GM and Chrysler?????
Well it seems that the Merger talks with GM are Chrysler failed so far...
Reason is Chrysler says the economy is in bad shape and maybe its a bad time to do this at this time....
I mean how much longer would it take,,,maybe Chrysler will let GM fail and just buy them up on pennys on a dollar.
Geeeee I thought Chrysler would be the first to fail......
Now if they join hands I wonder if we would see a Camaro???
That would mean a Camaro and a Challenger Maybe yes or maybe no.
I don't think anyone would know

I can't see how GM would benefit from the deal at all. For Cerebrus it would be a fantastic deal. They could dump a failing business for one that has chance of success. Personally I cannot think of one thing that Chrysler does better than GM so based on that I don't see it happening.
God I hope this doesn't happen
When Chrysler was for sale before Cerberus bought 80.1% of it, GM only offered $1 billion. Cerberus got 80.1% of Chrysler for $7.4 billion, and now they are willing to trade it for the other 49% of GMAC. How much did Cerberus pay for their 51% of GMAC?
The only thing I can think GM would gain would be that electric sports car and Jeep. If GM was after jeep they could have expanded Hummer down to that size for free rather than selling it.

Then again, I read in one car mag Chrysler worked with Benz to make the deisel that already meets emissions standards. Could that be it?

GM and Ford apparently had discussions as well:
