The new model is built in Michigan USA.

Aveo is a terrible name with a weak reputation, Cobalt is a decent name with an ok reputation. GM dropped the ball on small car naming.

I forgot that this one is being built here, with that in mind they really should change it. Aveo sounds Korean.

I think waiting until 2013 or 2014 to update the corvette is a bad move. The current design will be what, almost 10 years old by then?

remember.. this is not official from GM. and how many times have we heard that the next gen corvette is getting this and getting that.... mid engine this,,, AWD that....

and GM proves us that they know they have a perfect DNA for the vette and they don't want to mess with it.

I think the next gen Corvette will be more of the same but more tuned than ever before. I am not worried about GM putting something in the Corvette that it doesn't belong.
It's nice to hear a voice of reason here... especially when he's correct.

Very little yet outside of an emphasis on fuel economy. That tells me not to expect much change outside of design, interior, features, and drivetrains.

Aveo is not a Korean word or name.

In Korea the car is called the Kalos.

Aveo (like Camaro) is a basterization of a word from another language.

While Camaro is a deviation from French meaning "Good Buddy", Aveo is a variation from a language called Lydian (Turkish-Greek) roughly meaning "Greetings" or "Hail".

Yes... I looked it up.

Wouldn't be the 1st (or 2nd, or 3rd) time Corvette has gone quite a while without a new design.

Maybe GM would sell more Aveos if they renamed it "Amigo"

Yes, but as I remember the sales aren't all that great lately either. Do you really want to get the exact same thing the guy down the street bought 6, 8 or 10 years ago?

The redesigned Tahoe and Suburban will appear in the 2014 model year, and they probably will share more front-end sheet metal with the Silverado pickup to cut costs.
They should make the Silverado front end look like the Tahoe

I agree, but didn't the Corvette get moved up to coming out in 2012 as a 2013 model? It would be nice if the new model was out for the 60th anniversary.

I think he may mean the current one. If so, then I agree 100%. The Tahoe/Avalanche /Suburban front end is so much better and more upscale looking than the Silverado front end - IMHO.

Times two! I love the current Tahoe nose, but the Silverado looks like ! (I actually think the Sierra is better looking for the first time in a long time.) I've actually contemplated picking up a used Silverado and swapping on a Tahoe front end.

I agree. A great MCE for the Yukon would be to put the Sierra front end on them.

Agreed, the Sierra front end is more handsome than the Yukon front end - especially with the chrome grille - looks dressy - IMO.
