Future GM Lambda engines?
Future GM Lambda engines?
Are Lambda crossovers going to get any larger engines? I thought I remember reading somewhere that the DI 3.6 would make it into the vehicles and there was a possibility of a new V8 in the GMC and Buick. Not saying they need it, just wondering.
no they DO NEED it! At least as an option. THey are very heavy--the AWD is damn near 5000lbs. Not sure DI V6 would be a big enough step up. It's still only 3.6L
IIRC--there was a possibilty of a 4.0 HF varaint. With DI that might do the trick.
How many competitors offer 300 hp? Sure the Explorer and the GMT SUVs but what other competitors?
And torque....
Throw in passesngers, luggage and some mountain elevations and it wouldbe straning to move.
Not everywhere is sea-level elevation---I live at nearly 5000ft DA--so mildly quick car at sea-level is a bit pokey at this altitude.
Also, the Lambads are heviest in class, if I am ont mistaken.
3.6L is a great for base---but an optional eingine would be aprecaited by more then a few.
I would have been nice if GM would have made the Crossovers available in both large and shorter version that was midsize to cover two sectors with one vehicle.
