Re: Full time internet PR person?

If instead of Red, there was an official person doing this on business, he would revieve different feedback, and people wouldn't express their opinions.

Scott is in a good spot from out view point. If there was an official person interacting with us, then our ideas/opinions/whatever, would have to be put through a sequence of official steps. Guided by a rulebook if you will. This would leave many interpretations and a pipeline for integrating this feedback.

Scott is smart enough to not be swayed by our attempts to pursuade him (like have the Camar must to have 400hp and cost $20k). He is also has marketing experience, and is able to interpret our responses/suggestions reasonably and he has influence. Scott does talk to the engineers!

So if there was an official GM rep on here taking tallies, our opinions would just get lost in the rules, regulations, bureaucracy, and decision boards of GM.

Scott is more accurate, and an express lane.

To me, an internet Public Relations "person" would be the official websites, blogs, and rss feeds.

Unless I'm mistaken, a PR person is more for delivering information and keep focus on certain areas..

Not exactly to gather thoughts and opinions.. Thats for the market researchers..

I rather hear from someone thats actually involved with the product.. Researchers and PR people are kinda abstracted away from the actual project/program. PR feed info to people from info fed to them.. Researchers are just gathering information.. PR's and MR's are used by the people that actually effect the product - thats the people you guys really want to hear from. The inside scoop from someone that actually has power to change things... not the official MR and PR's.

or at least someone that has the inside scoop on things.

IOW, what number77 said..

Re: Full time internet PR person?

There are many questions that go unanswered as far as to why GM does what they do as far as PR goes.

Why does GM allow the media to constantly badmouth their company/products without stating their point of view with real-world data, sales figures, etc.?

When is the last time any of you have seen anything POSITIVE from the media about GM on TV? Does GM only do NEGATIVE things?

When has anyone seen anything NEGATIVE about Toyota on TV? Does Toyota only do POSITIVE things?

What puzzles me is the number of people who come into a site like this or LS2.com or LS1tech, (which are typically for GM enthusiasts) and badmouth GM products. It appears to me that they feel the need to try & "convert" the GM enthusiasts or make them feel as if the brand they've chosen is inferior.

There's a local Mustang site where I refuse to post. Why? Because the people who frequent the site are impossible to reason with. You could tell them it's 10 A.M. and they'd argue with you and say it's midnite, even with the sun shining brightly. lol
