Wow, nice engine choices. I didn't expect to see the 2.8L Turbo. I figured they would go with a 3.6L DI.

Why the Aisin unit for the turbo car? Do they not have a FWD 6speed unit capable of that much torque or is it some other reason?

With its superior torque, I wonder if we may see the 2.8L turbo eventually replace the 3.6L DI across the board.

Damn, that's a lot of torque way down low!

This is how I am tryign to view the whole thing, but it is hard to.

1) New SRX is really nto an SRX, but a BRX.

2) Next gen Escalade will really be the next gen SRX, but called an Escalade.

3) Escalade basically dies in everythign but name.

The problem is, it's still very very unlikely that I'd shell out Cadillac money for a 5th Lambda variant.

Everything is getting a little smaller, I'd rather this than GM kill established names. Don't forget you also have the CTS wagon now too.

I'm still hoping the Escalade moves to Zeta. I also don't think it will be a 5th Lambda but the first Lambda II (or what ever it is called) or it will be a hybrid of two platforms like the SRX (TE).

I guess I just can't get past my sticking point that if I am going to pay Cadillac money, it better be a unique product for the most part.

I feel my current SRX is just that. I feel the current STS is that, and all CTS generations.

The rest... not so much.

And it's pretty clear, that Cadillac is not going in the direction of having unique product platforms throughout the line, but unfortuantely, the reverse.

That makes me more likely to pass on future Cadillacs, and purchase the same basic vehicle under a different badge.

If this is BRX (kinda), this is a front-wheel drive model?

And I'm assuming they will have a 4-wheel drive as well, SRX-4 of sorts?

Looks to me like it's competing with BMW X3, Infiniti FX, Lexus RX. Except they're not FWD.
