Re: full cobra pics
Well Ya. Thats a Mustang Id buy.
I cant figure out though...450hp, handling, yadda yadda...And only a 255mm wide tire?
The outgoing 03/04 Cobras had more meat under them. That thing is gonna be like a Hemi on bias plies...
Just how I like it.

Man, reading how happy and excited the members of that board are, it really makes me notice how poor the moral is around here. Lets hope we get news of a new Camaro soon so we can have something to be excited about like that.
One guy even says, "thank you ford you have done it again!". When was the last time anyone heard that around here?

Re: full cobra pics
So they did in fact go back to a solid axle after making the leap to IRS on the previous Cobra? Also, it looks like they took some pictures of the C5 Z06 when choosing the wheel design...
Pretty cool ride, though. And 450 hp!! I'm guessing it will weigh just about the same as the GTO (over 3700 lbs), or come dang close to it - but without the GTO's relatively roomy backseat. Recently, I just happened to be glancing at the first Car and Driver test of the '03 Cobra when it came out, and the car they tested yeilded a curb weight of just over 3700 lbs (which I thought was a touch heavy, though I'd easily believe 3600 lbs). Should be a pretty mean machine (14"/13" brake rotors)...
If it comes in at 35 grand, that would be damn near unbelievable. If it starts treading in C6 price territory, however, I know where my money would go. Still a nice ride overall...

Re: full cobra pics
Hmmmm... Ford seems to be throwing more and more things in my face that make it harder and harder for me to not pay attention to them.
First the new F-150... pretty clearly the nicest full size truck... especially interior wise.
Then the Mustang... even though I am not a retro fan, I give it it's due...
Then the Five Hundred... ya, it's kind of boring, but the available AWD makes it intereting as a 4-door driver for my wife...
Now this Shelby Mustang.... verrrry interesting indeed.

The GT500 and the production-intent Sport Trac Adrenalin teaser accelerate the wave of momentum at SVT since the launch of the 2005 Ford GT supercar. SVT also now will develop non-SVT branded Ford Division performance vehicles – including heritage-based performance Mustangs in the spirit of the 2001 Bullitt GT and 2003 Mach 1 – as it becomes more directly integrated into Ford's mainstream product development process
