Well considering the hype, I am not that crazy for it. The front end looks wierd, and I wish the tail lights wrapped around the corners. The high point is definately the interior. I wish GM pushed the design of both the exterior and interior further. They did not take enough risks in my opinion. At least it does not look like a fleet rental special. Not sure if it will win any awards though. Looks to me that this car will just blend in and not be that noticed.

I think it looks perfect...just what I expected. Bravo GM.

FWIW, the buldging hood/grille area is in repsonse to European pedestrian impact standards...expect to see this theme repeated in many other cars meant for export.

It works for the Corvette and Camaro concept, I think it looks fine. Of course the tail light kind of blend in since it is a red car. It will be interesting to see what a silver car looks like.

Malibu is going to be sold on the continent?

Pretty much every other car on the road manages to avoid the bulging hood look, even cars that originate in Europe. There's no need for it here.

It's alright. Not what I expected after all the hype.

The car seems to be a blatant rip-off of the Jetta or Passat.

The Malibu that Chris Pawels drew (from the other Malibu sneak peek thread) was WAY better. If the production car looked like his, it would have been a screaming hit.

The interior looks awesome on this car. We'll have to see it in person to judge the materials and feel.

Then I'd suggest you look again....nearly every new car I've seen lately follows this path.

I like everything I see... well, except for the fact that the same steering wheel is in virtaully every GM car now.

Very handsome and upscale looking for the pricepoint.

I have been looking. Impala, G6, Aura, Civic, Accord, Fusion, Sebring, Five Hundred, Lucerne (to name just a few) all have noses that match the rest of the front end and don't stick out.

Tell me again why the North American market Malibu has to meet European pedestrian crash standards?

Actually I mentioned the Camry in my original post as having the same problem with its nose too.

As for the other cars being only sold here, well, the Malibu is only sold here.

I like the car in the slate color better than the red.

Impala

G6

Aura

Civic ( is sold in diffrent forms outside the U.S.) but here is one but ugly car!

Accord

Fusion

Sebring (follows the hign hoodline )

500

Lucerne

Just throwing those out there for pic value on it. Some are following the bigger hood style. like the Sebring, the Camry and the Malibu. Who knows the next Impala might have it also.
