Is this the formula for a new "Camaro"

We can disagree on so many levels, however, does this formula still fit the bill of what we want in a "Camaro"?
  • Distinctively modern aerodynamic styling for a clean functional appearance
  • Small, highly maneuverable size with packaging for four passengers
  • A very broad range of available performance capability
  • Quick, sharply defined roadability with a firm, yet comfortable ride
  • "Cockpit-type" interiors for close driver identification
  • An evolutionary, rather than revolutionary, basic design approach to maintain maximum value to the customer
  • Wide Selection of mechanical and appearance equipment to allow customer tailoring to his needs and desires'

Sounds more like 3rd gen than 4th gen regarding the "Wide Selection of mechanical and appearance equipment to allow customer tailoring to his needs and desires" and "A very broad range of available performance capability"

Works for me I'm still praying for that base model 5.3 with t-tops around $26k. 300-350hp with a stick and t-tops that I can afford works for me!!!! I wonder if they'll use the LS4, or the new 355hp 5.3 in the trucks...

easy to work on..... I'd through that into the mix.

TONY

off topic but it appears that it would only take about 5 mins to change the spark plugs in an '05 GTO. That thing has a bunch of room under the hood.

I would rather have a comfortable and spacious interior than a cramped 'cockpit' with sh1tty seats, console, and dash. As for aerodynamics, as long as they don't put fake vents on it and other stupid crap that'll be fine.

That formula is so widely open to interpretation that it could become almost any car.

Yes, with reservations. The car must be two-door, RWD. There must be a V8 and manual tranny option. And youmust be able to get a stripped, manual tranny, V8 for no more than $16K. You do that, and I'll buy it.

You can barely get into a base HHR for $16,000. The base Solstice sells for just barely under $20,000. Flash forward to reality.

Re: Is this the formula for a new "Camaro"

I chose no, not because I didn't like your criteria, but because it was missing 2 of the most important parts of what makes a Camaro a Camaro...rear wheel drive and a V8. A newer mercury cougar nearly meets all of those requirements.

i was just thinking of it, and we haven't had this since gen3. i really think they should have more options(at least more than the 4th gen)such as

-base 6cyl
-base 8cyl
-RS 6cyl
-RS 8cyl
-SS 8cyl H.O.
-Z28 8cyl H.O.
-Z28 8cyl H.O. "stripper" (think 1LE)

i know alot of ppl will argue with this (and my location of models in the listing)because of simplicity(see-bean counters). but i really think we need to go back to the 3rd gens aws far as model options.
