Exclamation Ford Taurus to continue through 2009

"The UAW's Smith said Ford informed local union officials that the Atlanta plant would continue building the Taurus and Sable sedans through the 2009 model year. Most analysts that track automotive production plans had expected the Taurus and Sable to be discontinued in 2005 or 2006.

That'll make for a crowded family sedan lineup...Taurus, Five Hundred, Futura.

is it possible that the Taurus will be the Malibu Classic of ford?? but if that were to be the case, then they wouldn't make the sable as well. Unless......will Mercury be receiving versions of the 500 and Futura as well??? I haven;t heard of them being brought over to Mercury, which could be why they kept the Sable.

Just guess as to why so many sedans

I think the Mercury Montego will be based of the Ford 500. That one is fore sure. You'll probably see others.

Due to the Montego being bigger, it'd make sense if they kept the sable around for a while.

Last time I drove a Taurus I could not believe how cramped the cabin was. The entire interior bulges toward you. I was quite claustrophobic driving it.
