Hey everyone,

My friend and I were talking cars last night and he told me he watched a show on tv that showed Ford working on a prototype performance V10. Is there any truth to this? Couldn't find any info on this. He mentioned it might be for the new Shelby Cobra car. I thought this car had been shelved? Thanks.

 

Ford had a few Mustang mules running around with V10s a few years ago. I think a Triton based one and a 351 Mod based one.

Some Google-fu shows off the Mod based one.

 

Maybe it was that Boss V10 they shoehorned into an SN95 Mustang a few years back. Ford ran it against Chevy's 572ci Camaro ZL1 concept in a Car and Driver article:

Hmmm....my mistake. Ford didn't use a V10 for the shootout car. They used a 10-liter V8.

Nothing ever became of it though... err yep your correct

 

The Shelby GR-1 Concept had a 600hp 6.4L V10.
