Good thing Cadillac has gone to alphanumerics -- no one will get upset if there is a CTS coupe.

But the nice thing about numbers is that there's absolutely no reason to do that.
Actaully, actually, BMW wanted to go to a name system where odd numbers would be for sedans and even numbers for coupes, with the coupe version of the 3-series to be known as the 4 series (425, 430 etc.) but, you guessed it, German BMW fans protested that it messed with the sacred name "3-series"

Back on topic...

I bet all they're talking about is making midsize and fullsize cars ar RWD again and would share common components with the pony car like the old LTD's, Crowns, Town Cars and what not...

Funny that those two vehicles have the largest following, the biggest clubs, the biggest share of aftermarket "stuff", and they get the most significant feeback on designs from current owners.
SOME friggin coincidence, huh?

Unlike the "design-by-committee" vehicles that have been tricling out in the last 2 years...

You guys who have been here a long time feel free to take shots at me at this point, because that is exactly what I used to say was GM's biggest problem. Seems like the tables have now turned; GM is actually listening to their buyers, and Ford is cramming out lame designs and wondering why people aren't standing in lines with their wallets open... DIIK...
