Okay. So why the more expensive front suspension then?

Actually, for me if this makes it to production I could see myself buying one for this specific reason. I'm not a big IRS fan, but I know I'm fighting a losing battle. Plus, if they do offer the production version with a manual and one fo the larger V8s, this would be a no brainer for me. Even thought I love the LX cars, I would buy a Ford over a Dodge for this reason.

The grille could always be fixed between now and production, and even if it did launch with the weird Super Chief look, it'd still raise my opinion of Ford by a factor of 10.

The fact that there even exists the question of whether or not such a car should be built is perhaps the most simple explanation of why companies like Ford continue their decades-long pissing away of market share.

I like the side profile and its stance but the 427 concept was better looking in the details. It would look mean as a cop car!

I like the side profile as well. Strikes me as kind of a mix of the LX and VE cars - go figure. The front and rear caps don't do anything for me at all though. I prefer the rear end of the 427 - maybe its the angles of the photos. The front end of the 427 is better executed as well. Not that I'm a fan of that concept, but given the choice between the 427 and the Interceptor - I'd lean towards the 427.

In any event, I wouldn't be rushing out for one. I'll sit tight for the Commodore/G8 or see what Chevy has in store for the Impala. Beyond those options (or Camaro), a Charger (not to mention some other options as well) would slot in above the Ford in my pecking order.

I like the front... Like the 300 its ridiculously overdone in the front but the back doesen't look nearly as dissonant.

Am I the only person left in this country that doesn't like huge, ridiculous wheels that look like they rolled off the set of Robocop 2?

Actually I think the nose looks more like something from Star Trek the Next Generation

Did this thread get awoken from the dead because Ford bought a clue and announced that the Interceptor is going into production? If not, then I remain disappointed.

Wow a google search, that was hard.

I just noticed the gauge cluster has some similarites to the Camaro concepts' cluster.

That's probally not the reason the thread was revived.

But on your other point, yes. In so many words, Ford has let out that an Interceptor-like RWD D2C based sedan (and related Lincoln) is in in fact, in the works for the not too distant future as the probable named Ford Galaxie.

Shockingly, they seem to be looking at the 2010-2011 time frame.... about the same time Impala and 2 other Zeta sedans are due.

With that being so I would assume the BA chassis isn't coming the NA and may be in jepardy down under as well. Correct?
