I don't know, but it would seem the smart thing to do. Then again, Ford's made some unwise decisions before.

Wonder if the Panthers are earmarked for one of the Boss motors?

I hope the Ford engine gives GM/DC some grief. GM just can't sit back and not expect to use the multivalve head it previewed publicly a few years ago...

Just curious, why do you claim the 4.0 is a POS?
It puts out almost as much as the legendary 5.0 did "in the day", it's been bulletproof in the new stang, and it was really a bulletproof powerplant in the Explorer and Ranger for a decade... that's literally MILLIONS of them built and in service, with no headlining problems.

So I'm curious why you have this negative perception of the 4.0... seriously.

Thanks,
PP

Proud let me translate what you said into GM speak "The 4.0 V6 is like the 3800 V6. It is powerful, reliable, and there are tons of them out there. Why get rid of it just because a newer engine, 3.4 DOHC LQ1 V6, is available?"

That should work.

You said it right there. It's a truck motor in a car with sporting aspirations. I'm sure it's a perfectly good motor; just a little crude in a Mustang application. Or so I hear.

I think he was objecting to the POS label.

I think the 3.5 would be better (50 more hp -- who wouldn't want that, but then it's probably more $$ too, and who wants that ), but the 4.0 isn't a POS.
