Probably because there's not a market for a subcompact in the US, or at least there hasn't been in the past. No one wants to drive around a tiny car like that on the freeway full of Suburbans, Excursions and H2s. I don't imagine it'd be particularly successful if it was that small, but I think they're just going to bring the Fiesta over, which looks a shade smaller than Focus.

1. It's official, people in tiny cars soon won't have to worry about all those Excursions coming off the assembly line.

2. Maybe people should worry more about the real "Big-Rigs?" It's no fun having a Kenworth or Freightliner glued to your rear bumper.
