Ford 2011 5.0 Supercharger package 624hp!
I take offense to that because my Caliber stock to stock will destroy a Neon SRT4 on any given course. The motor and turbo combination in my car produces a underrated 285hp from the factory and with a stage 1 ECU its game over for any stock or stage 1 Neon variant. They haven't even cracked the PCM on this car due to low production volume and there are a few very high 500hp cars and one rumored over 600.
Looks....eh its love it or hate it. I just needed something with seats for a family and the ability to drive in the snow.
Overall the interior is meh. But I can say once you get the torque steer under control this car is scary fast with modifications.

If you look at what has been accomplished the old SRT-4 wins hands down but the potential is in the Calibers favor. It just has better everything except for looks which is highly subjective.
Mod for mod the Caliber will make more power and pull farther ahead than the Neon. My car is no where near the end of cars as its a entry level car with a "decent" interior and a way overbuilt engine with too much power for what it is. All I know is that there are a LOT of pissed off Mustangs, Camaros and Vettes out there right now who wonder wtf was done to that black Caliber.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-f...-and-pics.html forall the talk around here about bolting on an LS9 blower you might want to read this link here is a breakdown for you guys throwing around the $6500 total your a bit off, granted this is for a Vette but a lot is the same with the Camaro,
There's been a lot of LS9 supercharger hype since GMPP released their "kit". I'm glad to see them offering all the head-unit pieces as a kit, but there's a lot more parts needed for an installation.
I have been gathering LS9 supercharger parts for 6 months, Big Thanks to Kevin at Parts Taxi for all his help. I have everything thats included in the new GMPP kit, and most of everything else thats needed. Here's a quick list of everything needed, including the GMPP kit.
LS9 Supercharger kit 19244103 $6500
LS9 Accessory drive kit 19243524 (alt, ps, ac, pullies...) $1872
Crank Balancer (custom ATI part for short wet sump crank) $700
Alternator Bracket 12602289 $120
Valve covers/gaskets 12602209, 12602208, 12612045 $295
Power steering hoses 15926148, 15925778 $110
Upper radiator hose 19130526 $34
LS9 water pump 12622036 $435
Factory stuff is at $10,066 and you still need a heat exchanger, intercooler pump, IC reservoir and hoses for the intercooler system. Factory pieces are:
Intercooler pump 15870574 $880
Heat Exchanger 15870557 $240
Reservoir 25948317 $190
Hoses $150
These pieces total $1460
I am going with a Bosch pump, fluidyne heat exchanger and Moroso reservoir, nylon braided lines... ($750 total)
Factory stuff is at $11,500 and theres a few more odds and ends needed...Not to mention a new hood and air cleaner assy

I was expecting to have the blower going for $7500-$8000.
I guess I'll stick to turboing or a Maggie.

Yeah all the cheerleaders saying they would just throw this on their car have been eerily silent after I posted that info. GM should get on the ball and offer up manufacturer support to it's base like Ford does. Give the GM fans a real kit and not just the blower and intercooler then say FU to all the tuning and $2k worth of other parts required to make it work, not to mention the internal engine work.
The LS9 blower was made available after I got my Magnacharger and I was a bit bummed.
Not any more after reading that. Happy to have my Maggie. It is a good blower with very similar guts as the LS9 blower. Good enough for me.

Yeah if GM was smart they could capture 75% of the supercharger market if they just made this a kit with a moderate tune to keep the LS3 and L99 alive without the high boost the LS9 engine can take because of it's internals. That's $6-$7k GM is loosing on every Camaro with an Edelbrock Eforce or Maggie and now Whipple.

Thank you for pointing out that GM's "kit" wasn't complete - I wasn't aware that you get just the blower assembly. There is/was very little info available about it. GM does need to make some application specific kits, and not a generic blower assembly, at a competitive price. But I don't think they should go aftermarket like Ford did.
Ford isn't providing ANY supercharger support for the 5.0 Mustang, the aftermarket is. The kit is 100% aftermarket engineered, designed and manufactured. Ford simply put their name on a Whipple product.

It is not Ford's calibration. Ford never has, and never will offer PCM calibrations on a handheld tuner. If it was a Ford PCM calibration, any dealer technician could pull up the calibration online, download it to the IDS, and then upload the the vehicle just like the Saleen and Roush stuff, but we cannot. The kit is completely aftermarket.

As far as FRPP's tuner and tune, read this: http://www.fordracingparts.com/downl...09_Article.pdf

The calibrations that Ford Racing provides for our cold air and supercharger kits are done by Ford engineers who, in many cases, worked
on the actual production vehicles. No one is more familiar with Ford engines and Ford control systems than Ford engineers. Extreme care is
taken to provide as much power and torque as can be safely delivered, but also to deliver extremely high durability and exceptional drivability.
Most of our kits are also 50-state emissions legal and many are now even offered with a warranty when dealer installed.
