First impressions on the Commodore & Caprice
Holden sells cars in the Middle East under the Chevrolet nameplate. Commodores are called Luminas and this Holden, naturally, is called the Chevrolet Caprice.
When this (and the Commodore) was designed, there was an eye to the US market.
Although we'll likely get the Commodore intact, evidently we'll get our own design for the 2010 large rear drive US Chevy which will likely serve as Impala's replacement.
If I'm reading right, if this comes over to the US at all, it'll be as some kind of Buick.
Initially it was supposed to be the Impala, but Bob Lutz won his fight for Zeta instead of VE, so we're getting our "heritage" Impala instead of a North American VE. That's why the back ends look similar, I'm guessing.

It's not the V8 or RWD that I'm concerned about, it's if an M6 option will be available. I suppose it woudn't be a deal-breaker, but I'd really like to get back into a stick again.
