Re: First actual 2013 GT500 dyno
Look at the actual curve. 609 is deceiving. If you were to take all the little peaks and valleys, I would suggest the more accurate Max HP would be at or perhaps slightly below 600 RWHP. No slouch at all - but I don't believe its a 700 HP car - especially given the SAE rating.

Re: First actual 2013 GT500 dyno
It may or may not be pulling timing, though if it is, it is way down around 4700 rpm.
The 609 is an anomaly - pulled timing or not. In time, the dyno racers will have plenty of graphs to disect, and it may be that the average is 600+. It's just with this one, I think 5.0 Mag did a disservice by posting 609 RWHP based on this particular graph.

Re: First actual 2013 GT500 dyno
I can't see the image.
I have a hard time believing it could be a 700HP car considering the engine is certified at 662HP. That means the "factory freaks" will be below 670HP.

Carbon Fiber driveshaft isn't hurting anything. Could be a very effecient drivetrain.
Most of us have been using 12-13% on manual transmissio cars for years. If they picked up a couple of percentage points then:
609/.9 = 676 hp

Re: First actual 2013 GT500 dyno
Customer car with 95 miles just dyno'd 601hp and 584tq on the same Livernois dyno that ran an auto ZL1 to 476hp.
Conditions: Hot.
Another run will be coming. I believe video and the actual dyno graph will be coming also.

Re: First actual 2013 GT500 dyno
Oh snap.
476/.82 = 580 crank. (18% loss auto)
601/.88 = 683 crank. (12% loss manual)

Re: First actual 2013 GT500 dyno
Owners of previous GT500's state they get about 20-30rwhp more, when they have miles on them.
I have no idea if that will carry over to the new 5.8L.

Re: First actual 2013 GT500 dyno
My GT500 actually dynoed like 904rwhp, so I have about 1000hp to the crank. (Yes I only have less than 10% loss, my car is that awesome) SAE numbers are baloney, I have a random sheet I pulled out to PROVE I have a 1000hp factory freak, not like dyno numbers can be changed by a million different factors or anything.
I then ran it to the track to see if the numbers were legit, I ran a 1/4 mile in -1 second. Yes, I actually went back in time my GT500 it was that fast. No biggie, the car was heat soaked, it was like 150 degree day and raining, so not my best time.
